Picked up my iX xdrive M50 Sport yesterday. Disappointed the the personal eSIM function is not available on UK cars and the deletion of passenger seat lumbar support, side bolster adjustment and massage function have been deleted.
The comfort pack price was reduced by £300 for the seat options deletion, come on BMW you are taking the Mickey.
If my dealer had informed that the deletion of the seat option was due to a lack of chips I would have waited and pushed my order back until BMW had replenished their supply of chips.
My dealer is checking with BMW if the personal eSIM function will follow in a software update later for UK cars.

Plus I don't think they make it clear enough that you need the B&W audio to get the quiet cabin you see reviews raving about.
And the parking plus pack is required for any of the reversing tricks.
My Tesla M3 is missing wireless charging, they apologised on delivery and will send someone to the house to retro fit once they have the parts.

This is a very interesting information, I have never heard or read before.
Is it from a reviewer? Or a user?
Observation from my 50. Plus I'm sure I've read that active Noise cancellation is a feature somewhere on the journey.
I could be wrong, but only the rear seats get speakers in the headrests with HK. Whereas the B&W have front seat headrest speakers to deliver this effect.
Combined with the fact the cabin isn't as quiet as the reviewers suggest on the motorway. And the reviews cars have all had B&W.
Will update once I get a B&W car to compare to.

I have B&W option on mine. Also I don’t have experience for HK on iX.
As I said, this is a new info for me. I will also check this noise cancellation issue.

I’m due to pick my 50 up next week and just went to pay for it and no mention of price reduction or massage deletion…so will see if it has them on Tuesday!
The eSIM could be an issue though…is it just using an eSIM as personal (i.e. extending so the car is basically your phone) that’s impacted or can you also not add an eSIM for pure hotspot function? I need the hotspot!
Also noise cancelling would have likely helped me justify the B&W as stuck with HK as “good enough”.

Did they offer you anything for removing that function (like @RorryVau1 above)? I picked up my 50 yesterday and am also missing the function - wasn't told it was being removed and only found out today when trying to use it.
No but I didn’t ask though. I ordered so long ago and specs are so vague (even now website says 22kw ac charging). More annoyed that there is no hotspot capability which about every car made in the last 5 years has!

I ordered a 50 yesterday, and apparently it's a May build slot and delivery (on the paperwork) says by June 30. I've been told that may slip a week or two which I'm ok with.
Went for dark grey with Comfort Plus Pack and Parking Assistant Pro.
Curious what the eSIM issue is? Does that mean the car can't do OTA updates?
Also, how do I track delivery? I have an order number but online to add my vehicle to my BMW account it asks for a VIN.

Congratulations on the order and that timing would be brilliant.
eSIM only impacts Wi-Fi hotspot and turning the car into your phone (i.e. if you don’t have phone with you the car could still receive calls). OTA updates, real time traffic and built in Spotify etc all not impacted. Hope is a soon to come update sorts it anyway as hardware is there.
Can’t help on tracking. I hounded dealer and still got a surprise that it had arrived at the UK port before even them knowing it had been built!
Ordered mid March 22, iX Sport40 Blue Ridge Mountain, 21inch 1010 style wheels with Black interior & Sun Protection glass, my UK dealer said they had one slot left for May production for a June delivery. Was told would have to wait for October delivery if I wanted an iX50. This will be my first electric car and am really looking forward to it. Replacing a 7 year old Diesel Volvo X60.

Had my ix since end of March, love it but can’t get the hotspot working…. Reading the posts I’m led to believe that the hotspot/in car Wi-Fi feature isn’t available?? Is this true? Very frustrating if so….

This is my first post. Collected my Phytonic Blue IX50 on Saturday and loving it so far.
I originally had an M3 G80 on order but after numerous delays, I decided to check out the IX.
