I think the perfect blend of the two would be to have the iX's lights with the grille shape of the X5.
Ix50, 320si -06, 528i -85, 535i -87, 535dcoe300 -82, E21 Hartge 335 -82 and some others

I think this shows how futurist the IX are.
X5 starts to be design of the past. X5 has a air intake, that it needs, and they have tried to make it look as good as they can but still be functional as an air intake. The Ix has a sculpture in the front with good looking head lights. The lower part on the Ix are way better also .And will in 6-8-10 years still look fresh and good
Ix dont need air intake in the same manner. But think BMW does it right to put in an design element like this. In the absence of any grill or design element and you end up with a Tesla3/Y/S-facelift. And they dont look good at all.
Only thing I do not like are the non M-sport front. The area on the sides are way to big/open. And the big wheel arch fasets. But look like they have a miner fix for this on the Ixm60. And hope the wheel flares on that one fits Ix40/50 🤞
