Voice Assistant frequently activating

Not had this at all and have done about 2000miles, have you checked your configuration of the key word to activate it, its somewhere in the iDrive menu. I think the default is something like 'Hey BMW' but I never use it, I just use the activation button on the steering wheel for voice commands. Interested to hear how you get along with this, keep us posted.

I get this quite frequently! It seems to happen when words that are nothing like ‘hey bmw’ are used too.

When I got the car I changed the Key Word to something unusual to avoid saying it in normal conversation. So the personal assistant just activates itself randomly when people are talking on the radio or when people are talking in the car.

On a 100 mile journey happens about 8 to 10 times, so it's become annoying. I could turn it off but I do find using the voice assistant to say" drive met to.......' and "call......" useful and easy to do. I tried to find a "sensitivity setting" on the voice assistant but to no avail. Could just be initial software problem that will eventually get fixed.

Good to know its not just my car which has this issue.

Could it be that your choice of Key Word isnt the best even if you find it “unusual”? i would advice you to change and check if it works out better.

Changed activation words back to the factory preset “My BMW” and did a 150 mile journey today - the personal assistant DID NOT ACTIVATE randomly. This has solved the problem.

BMW's version of "Alexa." But a general question since I don't have my iX yet - in iD7 in order to activate a custom Key Word, you still have to activate "Hey BMW" (it just adds a Key Word in addition to "Hey BMW"). Same in iD8?

can you tell me exactly how you changed the voice assistant back to factory preset? Appreciated
