I just got the Yakima skyline fx rack with the fit kit they recommended. It doesn’t fit. Screws didn’t fit and the pads don’t fit. That said it is lower than Thule edge. Not sure who used aero blade with ix but we were told there was no fixed point kit to go with it so couldn’t get it in. Does anyone have feet for Yakima or Thule aero bar that work on IX? They are going to reach out to Yakima tomorrow and will report back if they find a solution. There is a windshield prob helps w sound and range but not sure…

Thanks for posting this. I was just about to buy a Yakima Skyline FX rack! Now I think I'll go with the BMW OEM rac.

skyline fx is low and great Yakima does not give the middle size screws required although we’re telling them it doesn’t fit so they may change that you need 4 M7 40 mm screws and then it works. They also recommended a 46 inch windscreen which is too big we are getting a 40 inch one will report back on that.

For those with issues...where are you purchasing your M7 40MM allen scews? All I can find are M7 40MM Hex Bolts. I have Landingpad 25 with Skyline system and worked perfect with my 2021 550i but when trying to put on my new IX that I got today the 50MM was to long and the 30MM was too short and could not even catch a thread. What's weird is that the shop where I get my racks posts pics of IXs with Skyline (not FX) and when I called they said I would not have problems. Any help on the screws would be great! Thanks!

email yakima directly they will send them to you. I got some with a different head to tide me over from a hardware store but not that many places in USA stock Metric.

I am struggling to to get the Thule adapter into the BMW slot… it just doesn’t seem to locate properly. Any pointers?
