Here's an inane question from a 2022 iX50 owner. How do you actually get the weather info to populate? On my screen it has the time and location correct but never fills in the temp. and forecast. Thanks.
I think you need the ConnectedDrive Services enabled so that the car can get a data connection. Here's a list of all the services on my iX:

The car downloads weather information like traffic information - from BMW's servers, which are occasionally wonky. If you haven't done it, reboot the car. Then drive/park in an area with open reception (not a garage) and see if weather downloads before additional steps.
You can reboot the car by holding down the volume button on the center console for 10secs :)

A standard reboot is holding down the Volume scroller until the main screen goes blank (with the car on). That will likely take about 30s, but the time varies and isn't important - until the screen goes blank, then release until the sytem restores. There is also a diagnostic reboot, which may not be required in this case, but consists of putting the car in Diagnostic Mode, then rebooting. If the standard reboot doesn't work, might try that.

Has anyone with the US version got the over the air update (without going to the dealer) on a 2024 iX ? Mine was listed as a 2024 iX M60, production date 03.09.23 - so after the talked about March cut off, but not sure if that was end / start of March or even March at all ?

BMW usually do OTA a few times a year, like March ,July, November, OTA version is one version behind dealer.
You will likely receive 2023.07 in November.

Or if there's a recall via software, you will receive it sooner via OTA.
Or you can request your dealer to push during your next service (my dealer won't do it unless there is a recall)

Great - thanks for the info.

Not sure why BMW limits OTA to Just a few times a year, when clearly version 8.5 is out now.

this is one area where Tesla is king. OTA available almost immediately, you grt notified by phone, then activate the update by phone and 30 min later you get meaningful updates and changes.

even my polestar does OTA fairly well.
