I was told my iX50 is now in production and expect the delivery in june/July. I ordered this back in January 2022. I was also given a VIN. So i am confident that the air is now in production.

BUT, because of long wait, i picked up the 40 2 months ago. My dealer told me that it won’t come with air suspension and 4 wheel steering. So there is not much difference from the iX40 that i now owned and enjoyed. I told my dealer that i won’t be accepting the 50 if it is not the specs that i ordered. It’s unfortunate, but i can live with the 40 as the range is not a major concern to me.

Anyone one interested in the 50 without air suspension and active steering but with almost everything else? If i can resell it, I will most likely cancel my order.

When in Jan 2022 did you order?
I paid the deposit on 7th Jan 2022, and heard back nothing. I m going to chase it up today.
I ve been passive in that term, given I already bought another one, but want to arrange selling this one.

So I've got a VIN number now and my order status code is '150 Spec Locked ready for Body Shop'

Potentially looking at a September delivery.

Any other Australians with orders have details ?
Hi, can I ask if you were on a paid deposit wait list before your car was ordered? I put a deposit down in early Jan23 and been told the car won’t be ordered until July

Hi again,

I ordered mine in December 2021 and put down the deposit, i.e., my old car. Since i spat the dummy with the dealer principal, the sales rep has been in at least weekly touch to update me. He called to tell me that my car and others were being transferred to another port in order to bypass the backlog at Bremerhaven. Turns out that at the the vehicle is at the Port of Antwerp and the latest update is status 193 which confirms it is at the port. So now i am waiting for the next step and fingers crossed there are a couple of WW departures coming up. One Departing Antwerp on 27th April and one departing 7th of May. The first option sees the vehicle unloaded at Baltimore and transferred to another ship that arrives in Aus on 22nd June. The other one sees the vehicle unloaded at Southampton and transferred to another ship that arrives in Aus on 7th July. Fingers, toes and everything in between i get on one of them.

To all of those people who ordered a 50 in early 2022. A few Q's
1. Have you received your car or at least got a confirmation of delivery? (order month and delivery month)
2. Are you getting active steering and air suspension?
3. Has the dealer said anything about the price changes of the car.

I note that BMW upped the price about $4500 today.
I ordered in late Feb 22 and still have no word.
Cheers

Hi Nedlands, as mentioned earlier, I ordered my iX50 in December 2021. After much angst and finally spitting the dummy with the DP I can answer your questions as follows:
1. My car is now on a ship and it is expected to dock in Melbourne on the 14th or 15th of May (depending on which tracking site you use).
2. There is no active steering or air suspension due to the global stop by BMW in November 2022.
3. There has been no price change mentioned.

I was told that there are a few other vehicles besides mine headed for Australia on the same vessel. It is not the standard Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship but an Italian one owned by the Grimaldi family. I have not looked on the BMW Australia website for a couple if weeks but the last time i did it appeared that you can no longer choose an interior colour or different wheels? I am trying not to get bitter and twisted about the steering and suspension but am happy that it is close to arriving - fingers crossed

Hi all. An update. The ship i was tracking arrived on the 15th but then sat at anchor in Port Phillip bay for over a week after arriving - grrr. Anyway it finally docked on the Saturday 21st of May. I spoke to the sales rep on the Monday to let him know and he had only just found out it was arriving. He then proceeded to tell me that there would be a delay because of a backlog with the bio-security checks and thought it would be a couple of weeks but from what i have read on the net i thought it would be a 4 - 5 week wait so i settled in relieved that the car had finally made it to Australia.
So today my heart is pumping big time as the phone just went and it was the rep who told me the car was arriving at the dealership tomorrow or Friday!!! I nearly fell over with shock, now I'm getting excited at the prospect of taking delivery after a frustrating 18 month wait.

That's great. Please fill us in once you take delivery and also post a few happy snaps

Hi gents, It's finally here! Had it for 6 days now and it is simply amazing. Still haven't worked out where everything is or what it can do but i am so relieved and so happy after 18 months.
Hopefully the photos do it justice. Colour is Sophisto Grey Brilliant effect Metallic with the Castanea interior, (castenea is actually chestnut). The interior photo does not look as good as it does in reality. I hope everyone else gets their machine soon.

did anyone negotiated on the price of BMW IX50? if not, did anyone negotiated on tint windows, free 6 year valet servicing etc considering we are investing well over $190k.
